Manchester United 3-0 Tottenham Hotspur

Evidently, the writer who was scheduled to take the lead on the live blog was unavailable for this match, so I'll be having a go at it today. This is my first live blog, so wish me luck.

At 3pm EST, Tottenham Hotspur will take the field for their first match of the EPL season. To start your season at Old Trafford is never the most ideal way to get things rolling, and it will likely constitute their toughest test of the year.

For Manchester United, the match will be their first match in front of the home crowd since their Champions run of 2010-11. They're looking to start off just as hot as they finished in the league last time around, and they hope to establish Old Trafford as a fortress yet again in 2011-12.

Meanwhile, 6000 miles away in the outskirts of Seattle, Washington, there will be me, watching live on ESPN2, hoping those dodgy satellites don't cause me any grief like they so love to do, and updating you on all the action.

As I sit here in my white Puma jersey that says "Autonomy" on the front for some odd reason, and my scarf with the picture of a goofy little chicken sitting on top of a football that I'm totally wearing just to keep myself warm, it's important to me that you know that I will be doing my best to avoid showing any bias in this running commentary.

While I do, in fact, support one of the two clubs in this highly-anticipated Monday night match, my goal is to leave you never fully aware of which club that might be, and provide you with the most up-to-date and unbiased coverage I can give. This 1981 FA Cup Final sweatshirt that I'm wearing right now means nothing. I totally don't even know who played in that match. Probably Liverpool or something.
