Juventus Transfer News: 6 Players Juve Could Still Sign This Transfer Window
With the Serie A drawing ever closer, Juventus still has a large portion of their transfer budget available to sign players. The question is, who will Juventus sign?
With Andrea Pirlo, Reto Ziegler, Stephan Lichtsteiner and Arturo Vidal already joining the ranks of Juventus, perhaps a striker is in the cards. After a loss to Sporting Lisbon 2-1 in a preseason friendly, Juventus hasn't yet tuned their squad to perfection.
Let us take a look at who Juventus could still sign.
An Italian Affair
1 of 6Name: Giuseppe Rossi
Age: 24
Club: Villarreal
Position: Striker
Goals Last Season: 18 goals in 26 matches
Transfer Fee: €30
After the attempt to secure the services of Sergio Aguero failed, Juventus is turning to fellow Spanish club Villarreal in the hope they can sign Italian international front man Giuseppe Rossi.
If any deal does eventuate, Rossi would be in the advantageous position of not having to learn a new language to settle in. He would also be familiar with many of the players in the Juventus squad, playing regularly with Chiellini, Buffon, Marchisio and Quagliarella in international fixtures around the world.
Negotiations have slowed the last few days, mainly because Juventus has pursued Arturo Vidal after the loan of Felipe Melo to Turkey began.
Brazilian Magic
2 of 6Name: Michel Bastos
Age: 27
Club: Lyon
Position: Midfielder (Left)
Goals Last Season: Eight goals (five assists) in 32 matches
Transfer Fee: €17-20
Michel Bastos has long been on the radar of the Old Lady.
Last season they approached Lyon to purchase the Brazilian as a left-back, which proved yet again to be a weakness for Juventus. Bastos has somewhat evolved into a midfielder this season, and with an apparent vacancy on the left-hand side of the field, Bastos could be the perfect replacement.
Superstar in the Making
3 of 6Name: Simon Kjær
Age: 22
Club: Wolfsburg
Position: Defender (Centre)
Goals Last Season: One goal (five assists) in 34 matches
Transfer Fee: €15
Juventus' last venture with a Danish player went horribly wrong (Christian Poulsen). However, this time they have set their sights on a player who is pure talent and already proven himself on the world stage.
At still a young age, Kjær could be shaping up to be the next big thing in the world of football. He is solid on the ball and takes full control at the back.
Juventus had already tried to lure Simon away from Palermo before he joined Wolfsburg. But this time around they just might break through and sign the youngster.
Japanese Sensation
4 of 6Name: Keisuke Honda
Age: 25
Club: CSKA Moscow
Position: Midfielder (Attacking)
Goals Last Season: Four goals in 12 matches
Transfer Fee: €10
Honda would make history at Juventus if he signs with the club. He would be the first-ever Japanese player to play for Juventus' first team. Along with this, Honda would bring a creative dimension to the Juventus attack—demonstrated during the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
He is also a set piece specialist and would be able to take over the role from Del Piero whilst the Italian legend is off the field. Honda can play on both flanks and would be a very versatile player to have on the Juventus squad.
A Seasoned Professional
5 of 6Name: Mirko Vučinić
Age: 27
Club: Roma
Position: Striker
Goals Last Season: 11 goals in 36 matches
Transfer Fee: €15
There is no question Mirko Vucinic has proven himself as a striker in Rome. After making a statement with his 19 goals for Lecce in his first season of the Serie A, Vucinic established himself as a reliable goal-getter for Rome.
Vucinic recently expressed his desire to leave Rome, but stay in Italy. With Juventus seemingly the only Italian club in the market for him, a move looks feasible. He would form a formidable attacking force with Quagliarella and Matri.
Young Gun on the Rise
6 of 6Name: Marko Marin
Age: 22
Club: Werder Bremen
Position: Winger
Goals Last Season: Five goals (10 assists) 40 matches
Transfer Fee: €13
The tipped heir apparent to Diego and Mensut Ozil, Marko Marin looks to be the next big thing out of Germany. An extremely quick player on the ball, the German has already made his international team debut with 16 appearances already—and, of course, scoring a goal in the process.
Marin would prove to be a perfect addition to Juventus, slotting right in on the left-hand side of the field. Together with Krasic on the opposite side of the field, Juventus would have no problems finding men in the box from the sideline.
