Siem De Jong was born on Jan. 28, 1989, in Aigle, Switzerland to two Dutch parents.
Siem de Jong first started out playing for amateur side DZC'68 and was watched carefully by De Graafschap, whom he joined in 2001. He played there for about four years, until he was snapped up by Ajax in 2005.
De Jong has slowly risen through the ranks at the club, and this season has been his best so far, with the highlight scoring two goals in the decisive game of the season, against challengers Twente and which gave Ajax the title win.
He has scored 15 goals in 43 appearances this season, highlighting his good eye for goal, and he's not even a striker. He has made a total of 113 appearances for Ajax, scoring 32 goals.
Siem de Jong has also risen through the youth ranks with the Dutch national team and has made solitary appearance as a full Dutch international.
