Ashley Young is nearing the completion of his move to Manchester United. The England international has passed his medical exam at their training facility and is awaiting the finalization of paperwork and personal terms.

The believed contract, according to the Daily Mirror, is believed to be a five-year deal for £130,000 per week. There was stiff competition for the attacking wide man, as he was highly wanted by Liverpool and Manchester City.

After what has been a year of highly speculative rumors for Young, he is finally on the move. The draw of Champions League football was simply too much for Aston Villa to overcome. New Aston Villa Boss Alex McLeish could not persuade the 25-year-old to stay.

In what looks like it will be the second completed move for the Red Devils with a £16 million transfer fee, the same price paid to Blackburn Rovers for youngster Phil Jones, the Reds have filled up the hole left by the retired Paul Scholes.

The move also has opened up the speculative door again that Ji-Sung Park will most likely be spending his last year in Manchester United red this season.

The Red Devils' second signing of the season should be done in the next 24 hours. Young will slot into the lineup as another wide player on the opposite side of Nani, and should give the Mancs an even more threatening attack with his pace and creativity.
