Arsenal Transfer Roundup and News
An interesting day of transfer gossip, rumors and speculation surrounding the Gunners. Here are the headlines.
Rumors on Players Leaving
An article in the Daily Star reports that Cameroonian international midfielder Alex Song is being targeted by Italian giants Inter Milan as a replacement to their club captain and legend Javier Zanetti. They are rumored to preparing a bid of £15 million for the holding midfielder.
I personally don't want Song to leave, as he has become a pivotal player and asset for the Gunners and is one of the best in the league. I'm pretty sure it's just speculation; Wenger won't let him go.
Rumors on Players Joining the Gunners
As I've stated in my last post, Wenger has displayed his interest in signing the French international forward from Real Madrid. He has hinted in making a bid for the talented striker, stating that signing him is "not impossible." I believe that this is going to be a difficult acquisition, as Benzema has been excellent this season, scoring 26 goals and making nine assists, and I doubt Mourinho will let him go.
You probably already have a good idea of Benzema's talents, but why not have another look?
A report by talkSport states that Ivorian international and Lille player Gervinho is interesting the Gunners, and that Arsenal and Liverpool are leading the chance for the talented winger, who is rated at around £10 million.
I believe the report is way out of mark, especially with the reported value. Gervinho is a young and gifted winger who is wanted by the best clubs in Europe. He just won the French league title and was one of the best players this season. It'll take more than £10 million in order to lure Lille to sell him.
If you want to have a better look of Gervinho's talents, check out the accompanied video.
