Real Madrid and Juventus To Trade Players in the Summer

Roberto Alvarez-GallosoMay 13, 2011

According to the e-magazine Soccernews.com, Real Madrid and Juventus are negotiating for an exchange of players during the summer transfer window.

The meetings between Florentino Perez (President of Real Madrid), Jose Angel Sanchez (Executive Director of Real Madrid), Beppe Marotta (Juventus General Manager) and Fabio Paratici (Juventus Technical Secretary) have been intense and ongoing concerning the transaction.

Juventus wants to sign Ezequiel Garay, Lassana Diarra and Karim Benzema for the 2011-2012 Serie A season. Real Madrid responded by saying that Karim Benzema will remain at La Liga for the time being.

Real Madrid responded by offering to sell Garay and Diarra under certain conditions. Real Madrid wants $14.25 M for Garay and $25.64 M for Diarra.

Real Madrid expressed a desire for Giorgio Chiellini, Felipe Melo and Amauri as possible transfer candidates from Juventus. Juventus responded by mentioning a possible transfer for Amauri and Melo.

Juventus expressed its intentions of retaining Chiellini for the present time. What can be the results of such negotiations?

Real Madrid has recently signed Nuri Sahin for the next season which will leave Diarra on the sidelines. Ezequiel Garay may go to Juventus since it appears that his career has not advanced in Real Madrid.

The only problem with Diarra and Juventus is that Manchester United and Arsenal have expressed interest in him.

Melo may go to Real Madrid but the Premier League appears to be another alternative for him. According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal has expressed an interest in the services of Melo.

Amauri is also thinking of a Premier League alternative since the Tottenham Hotspur have expressed an interest. The report about the Spurs and Amauri originated from the e-magazine Tribal Football.

It remains to be seen how this will transpire.
