Wolfsburg 1-1 Bayern

Bayern started off with a flash after the winter break, scoring against Wolfsburg in the seventh minute. Thomas Mueller opened the scoring without knowing too much about the goal. Diego Benaglio's rushed clearance hit him and went into the back of the net for 1-0.

Thomas Kraft's first Bundesliga start was a spectacular one, as he denied Wolfsburg with some brilliant saves. Mario Gomez missed some great chances at the other end; with Miro Klose raring to go, he might be in trouble if he fails to take his chances against FCK.

Bayern had a chance to win the game when Ashkan Dejagah's foul in the penalty area led to a a penalty. Philipp Lahm stepped up and hit the post. In the Bundesliga, a grand total of four out of four penalties were missed in this particular week. Lahm was the only German to have done so.

However, Bastian Schweinsteiger's error took away an almost deserved three points from the hands of Bayern. Schweinsteiger stole the ball from his opponent in the 87th minute, but tried to turn and send the ball away from goal. During his turn, Marcel Schaefer stepped in and stole the ball from him. His perfect ball into the penalty area allowed Sascha Riether to tap it in, in the dying minutes. Schweini also sent the ball over the bar, in injury time, from a header.

The game saw Dortmund's lead over Bayern extend to 16 points due to their win 3-1 demolition of Leverkusen.

Prediction: Bayern vs FC Kaiserslautern

In August 2010 at the Betze, Kaiserslautern handed Bayern their first loss of the season, 2-0. FCK had to come from behind last week to secure a draw against Koeln. Srdjan Lakic saw red early on in that match and will thus miss this week's game due to suspension.

Bayern will have to do without the services of Franck Ribery, who was injured by Josue last week. Toni Kroos is also out with an injury. Arjen Robben will perhaps start this week, after he played the majority of last week's match.

The match against Wolfsburg saw Breno and Holger Badstuber set up with each other in central defence. The pair played a good match and would have come away with a clean sheet had Schweini not made the error in the final minutes. Luis Gustavo made his debut, but will not start this week if Louis Van Gaal is to be believed. Also, Schweini will perhaps continue in the role behind the striker.

Mark Van Bommel is yet to have picked up five yellow cards this season and will perhaps start. Statements from Bayern say that Van Bommel will be allowed to leave for the "right price." Miro Klose will not be allowed to leave, as he is the only backup to Mario Gomez, due to Ivica Olic's injury troubles.

Bayern will probably get the three points against FCK and hope that a Sven Bender and Mario Goetze-less Borussia Dortmund will fall to Stuttgart.

Final Score: Bayern 2-1 FCK
