Martin Demichelis waved goodbye to Bayern following seven and a half years. Bayern thanked him for his services. He moves on to Spanish side Malaga. Demichelis played in defensive midfield and central defence for Bayern. He provided occasional laughs for Bayern's fans primarily with his slips in concentration and secondarily with his "Zorro" mask last season. He had had to deal with a terrible half-season at Bayern this year but will surely look back to his time in Bavaria fondly.

Meanwhile, Bayern has signed Luis Gustavo from TSG Hoffenheim for allegedly around fifteen million euros. He can play as a left-back as well as a defensive midfielder. Many look at him as a direct long-term replacement for Mark Van Bommel and Anatoliy Tymoschcuk. Bayern dealt with Hoffenheim owner Dietmar Hopp- coach Ralf Rangnick was kept completely in the dark about the deal. The deal thus led to Rangnick leaving the club.

David Alaba went to Hoffenheim for a six-month loan deal as part of the deal of bringing Gustavo to Bayern. Alaba recovered from injury recently but wasn't getting any playing time in Munich. Gustavo was perhaps brought in as Bayern was unable to lure Leighton Baines away from Everton.

The team is currently in Qatar for a training camp. Toni Kroos, Ivica Olic and Rouven Sattelmeier were left behind due to their injury problems. Danijel Pranjic also had to withdraw from the camp due to illness. Arjen Robben is part of the camp and is now training with the rest of the squad. He certainly does not feel that he himself can lead Bayern to trophies on three fronts.

Transfer Rumours surrounding Bayern haven't ended. Mario Gomez's good form seems to have put Bayern off Edin Dzeko. Dzeko now seems to be the "rope" in a tug of war between Juventus and Manchester City.

Mark Van Bommel recently said he is 99% sure that he will not be leaving Bavaria in the winter break. He, however, also mentioned that he will have his phone switched on in Qatar. He might leave if a good offer comes in atlthough, at the end of the day, he is the captain and it is questionable whether Bayern will allow him to leave in this unceremonious manner.

This last one is an interesting one. Real Madrid is allegedly preparing a loan move for Miroslav Klose. Almost everyone is linked with Real but the big question really is whether Bayern will allow him to leave. The only pure striker other than Klose at the club is Mario Gomez as Olic won't be returning any time soon. Klose will certainly not extend his contract and might want this move if the rumours are indeed true.

Finally, Happy New Year everyone- I hope all your dreams about the transfers your club should make come true.
