Manchester United are on the verge of making an offer for the German attacking midfielder Mesut Ozil .

The World Cup star has an interest in Barcelona, Chelsea, Arsenal and Real Madrid, but it seems that Manchester United will be making the opening bid.

Werder Bremen look like they will lose their man this summer, as the odds of Ozil going to United this summer have been slashed to 1/5.  And even if he doesn't join with Man U for some reason, he will most certain leave Werder for another club.

The gifted player will add much needed creativity to the United midfield as they seek to take back the Premier League title from Chelsea.

He only has one year left on his contract and the Red Devils are hoping to get him for around £10m, although the German team are asking for more—closer to £15m.

Ozil was a player that stood out for the Germans during World Cup.

Even though there were players like Klose in the same team, he managed to make the stage his own and put on an amazing show that has caught the eye of many top clubs.

Throughout the group games, he was on the end of most balls, setting up the chances and scoring the goal which meant Germany went through as group winners.

FIFA also nominated him as one of the ten players to get the Golden Ball, and was on nearly every "Best 2010 World Cup" teams.

If he is to join United, will he be the new Cristiano Ronaldo, or will he turn into another Berbatov?
