Report: AC Milan Interested in USA Star, Clint Dempsey
Reports are circulating that Italian Serie A giants, AC Milan, have got their eyes on Team USA and EPL Fulham player, Clint Dempsey. The attacking midfielder is coming off of a gritty, standout performance in this summer's FIFA World Cup tournament.
Dempsey opened the USA's goal account in their first match against England on June 12. He went on to score another goal in the tournament that was controversially disallowed.
Prior to joining the US team for its South African campaign, Dempsey enjoyed a successful season with the English Premiere League's Fulham. His goal in the second game of a two-leg tie against Juventus helped Fulham to reach the Europa League final, where they lost to Athletico Madrid.

His record of consistently strong performances throughout the 2009-10 season lead the rugged midfielder to be designated Most Valuable Player amongst Americans in Europe by SoccerOverThere.com.
AC Milan, meanwhile, had an up and down 2009-10 season that saw them struggling to find consistent form following the departure of their midfield talisman, Kaka. Their big buy during last summer's transfer window, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, has largely failed to produce goals on a regular basis.
Their coach, Leonardo, was sacked at the close of last season and the Rossoneri are expected to overhaul their aging squad prior to the start of the next Serie A season.
Yahoo! Sports has quoted a source close to the club as having said, "There are some options on the table but Dempsey is a realistic one. A bid is very possible, and soon."
Comfortable in both an attacking midfield position and as a striker, Dempsey could be a big asset for the club as it attempts to reconstitute its offense and mount a serious challenge for the Scudetto and the Champions League, both of which fell to city rivals Internazionale last season.
Sources close to Fulham, however, have stated that as of now, no bid has yet been forthcoming from the Rossoneri.
