As a die-hard Giants fan, the 2009-2010 season was pretty tough to watch. Being 5-0 and perhaps the best team in the league to only winning 3 out of our last 11 games was pathetic. The defense was flat-out awful, with serious lack of effort.

Our running-backs seemed to be as effective as a woodcutter trying to cut trees with a knife (which by the way, is not that effective). Regardless, we have a solid offense, and with a great draft, we can be on top again in our hellishly talented division, the NFC Beast.

Like most others, I firmly advocate drafting Rolando McClain in the first round, if he falls to us that is. If not, I suggest trading down and acquiring more draft picks. After all, linebacker Sean Lee (Penn State) will be available to us in the second round. So will running back Toby Gerhart (Stanford), who is a solid north-south runner and whom I would like very much for us to draft and give us a three-headed monster in the backfield.

Even with Donovan McNabb perhaps going to Oakland, the Eagles will be still be hard to play, with first-year starter Kevin Kolb being a fine quarterback, and with the recent signing of running-back Mike Bell, the Eagles remain firm contenders. The Cowboys will be tough as usual, but if we solidify our defense, we will definitely beat them. Heck, we beat them twice this season, and we can do it again, especially with an upgraded defense under new coordinator Perry Fewell.

I am not too sure about the Redskins, but I am pretty confident we can take them out. However, with Mike Shanahan at the helm, this team could be difficult next year, and has got me worried. No doubt, the coaching staff at the Giants will take a long look at the Redskins pre-season games, and evaluate accordingly.

In a fitting preseason opener, The New Meadowlands Stadium will open on Monday, Aug. 16 when the New York Jets host the New York Giants in the first game at the teams' new stadium. (Now as I Giants fan, its kinda annoying why we are the guests in this game, but we get the first regular season game at the Stadium, so Jets fans can go drink some Hater-ade).

Anyways, hopefully we won't get spanked, and not give Rex Ryan the freedom to go chow down on some hamburgers since his team just kicked the snot out of us. Heck, we need to help this guy out with his weight, lets just beat up those arrogant Jets, and try out our new defense in the process.

My prediction for the next season, the Giants win the NFC East with a 11-5 record, and have a 4-2 division record. We will probably play either the Falcons or the Packers, since I believe those two teams will be the wild-cards with the Saints and Vikings winning their respective divisions. I can hardly wait. Feel free to post comments or yell at my article. Until next time Giants fans, and keep bleeding blue.
