Recap

The match was Clarence Seedorf's first in charge of Deportivo, and they were somewhat improved from their 5-0 thrashing at the hands of Real Sociedad in Cristobal Parralo's final game.

Depor were able to muster 16 attempts on goal in the match but hit the target just twice.

Their profligacy proved their undoing when Moron converted Ryad Boudebouz's cross from close range after 54 minutes to seal the win for Betis.

Moron—who scored twice in his senior debut for Betis last time out against Villarreal—has been clinical, per OptaJose:

Similarly ruthless was Cristiano Ronaldo as he put Sociedad to the sword in Madrid's 5-2 win:

After setting up Lucas Vazquez for Los Blancos' opener inside a minute, he tapped home Marcelo's pullback and doubled his tally with a header after Toni Kroos got in on the action with a sublime effort.

Ronaldo had his hat-trick when Geronimo Rulli failed to hold Gareth Bale's shot, which ensured Los Blancos needed to worry little about late efforts from Jon Bautista and Asier Illarramendi.

Real remain third but gained two points on Barcelona after the league leaders were held to a goalless stalemate with Getafe, their second draw in a row.

Yahoo Sport's Andrew Gaffney praised their opponents:

Indeed, the Azulones have shipped just 21 goals this season, a record bettered only by Atletico Madrid and the Blaugrana themselves.

Barca may not have an easy time of it in their next match either, as they take on a seventh-placed Eibar side who have won their last two matches.
