Steve Nash Completes Neymar's Instagram Soccer Challenge

Barcelona superstar Neymar sent out an Instagram video Wednesday that flaunted his famed footwork. He challenged some of his top contemporaries to match his skills, but Steve Nash responded instead.

In another life, the retired NBA point guard could have racked up assists on the pitch. He leased out his talents to Amar'e Stoudemire and Andre Drummond in dunk contests over a decade apart. After retiring from basketball, the renowned soccer enthusiast trained with the National Premier Soccer League's New York Cosmos B team.

Per the rules of Neymar's challenge, the 43-year-old Nash kicked the ball behind his other leg before sending it off the wall. He even upped the Brazilian star with three more reps. Here's the post that inspired the two-time NBA MVP into action: 

Nash wasn't the only athlete to respond to Neymar's video. Fresh off Real Madrid's Champions League triumph, Marcelo—tagged in the comment—accepted his peer's challenge:
