Juventus are in a strong position to qualify for the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals as they gear up for the second leg of their round-of-16 showdown with FC Porto in Turin on Tuesday.

The Bianconeri capitalised on a red card for Alex Telles early in the first encounter, grinding down their opposition and netting twice late on through Marko Pjaca and Dani Alves to win 2-0. It means Porto need to produce a stunning performance if they're to progress into the final eight of the competition.

Nevertheless, Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri will be taking no chances against talented opponents.

While the sending off of Telles was a critical moment in the the first leg, Juventus were eventually able to get over the line thanks to the exceptional depth they possess.

Indeed, for Allegri to be able to introduce players like Alves and Pjaca into a finely-balanced game is a testament to the recruitment done by the Turin outfit. The pair added fresh impetus into the Bianconeri's play and effectively killed the tie.

It makes the Italian champions favourites to progress from this one. Even if Allegri does opt to rotate his squad, he has so many quality footballers in so many different positions. 

The likes of Mandzukic, Dybala and Higuain will always cause problems for opponents, while at the back, the likes of Buffon, Bonucci and Barzagli are capable of preventing Porto from getting an away goal and establishing a foothold in the tie.

Whats also makes any notion of a comeback difficult to entertain is Juventus' incredible home record. As noted by the ESPN Stats & Info account, Dybala's late winner against Milan on Friday extended their immaculate form at the J Stadium:

Porto have actually been in good form on the domestic front. In the league, they've won their last nine matches in succession and are unbeaten in 22 matches. However, for the Primeira Liga leaders, playing against Juventus is a massive step up in quality.

Still, Santo and his players will give it a go, especially having watched Barcelona miraculously recover from a four-goal deficit in their tie with Paris Saint-Germain last week.

Porto have some attackers capable of getting on the scoresheet, too. Per Squawka Football, Soares, in particular, has been red hot in front of goal since arriving at Porto from Vitoria Guimaraes in the January window:

If Porto can muster an away goal in the early stages, there's a chance Juventus may get a little nervy. However, given the quality and experience in Allegri's squad, even if they were to suffer an early setback, all the attributes are there to overcome it.

Juve have been imperious in front of their own supporters as of late, and while the manager may make a few tweaks in terms of personnel, expect the key figures to feature and for the star attackers to comfortably fire Juventus into the quarters.
