EPL Results Week 27: Saturday's 2017 Premier League Scores, Top Scorers, Table

Gianni VerschuerenMar 4, 2017

Zlatan Ibrahimovic provided plenty of drama in Manchester United's 1-1 draw against Bournemouth during Week 27 of the Premier League season, as he failed to add to his tally in the top scorer's standings following a missed penalty.

The Swede and defender Tyrone Mings were involved in a handful of altercations, and things got violent, with Ibrahimovic elbowing his marker in the face after Mings had stamped on his head.

Elsewhere, Manolo Gabbiadini continued his incredible scoring run with a brace, and Fernando Llorente added two goals of his own.

Recap

Manchester United dropped two points in the race for a top-four finish, as Ibrahimovic and his team-mates wasted several great opportunities to beat Bournemouth.

Instead, the Cherries earned a hard-fought point thanks to Joshua King's penalty before half-time. Marcos Rojo had given the Red Devils the lead.

MANCHESTER, ENGLAND - MARCH 04: Zlatan Ibrahimovic of Manchester United (R) is challenged by Tyrone Mings of AFC Bournemouth (L) during the Premier League match between Manchester United and AFC Bournemouth at Old Trafford on March 4, 2017 in Manchester,

United had chance after chance in the second half but couldn't work the ball past goalkeeper Artur Boruc. Ibrahimovic came face-to-face with the stopper from the spot, but the normally reliable veteran couldn't convert.

He waged a serious war with Mings that started when the Swede aggressively pulled his marker to the ground.

Mings took it way too far with a stamp on Ibrahimovic's head, which should have earned him a red card. But the former Paris Saint-Germain striker retaliated with an elbow, and that too went unpunished.

Per BBC, he denied aiming for Mings afterwards:

As shared by betting company Paddy Power, so did his opponent:

Both are likely to receive serious suspensions, which could have major consequences for United in particular. If the Red Devils have to play several matches without their top finisher, a top-four finish might prove impossible.

Mings would be a loss for a leaky Cherries defence, but Bournemouth sit in relative safety in the league and are too far down the standings to have a shot at European football.

Elsewhere, Gabbiadini bagged one more goal in Southampton's win over Watford. As shared by WhoScored.com, the Italian's start to his Premier League career has been sensational:

Gabbiadini is unlikely to play a role in the top scorer's race at this stage of the season, but if he keeps this up, he may well end up inside the top 10.

Llorente also scored twice, completing a comeback win for Swansea City over Burnley.

In Saturday's late match, Sadio Mane added to his tally in a 3-1 win for Liverpool over Arsenal. Alexis Sanchez started on the bench and provided an assist.
