Recap
Arsenal halted their two-match winless run in strong fashion on Sunday, overcoming a feisty Bournemouth squad with a 3-1 win.
Sanchez gave the hosts an early lead, taking advantage of a defensive blunder to put the visitors in an early hole. The Cherries fought back, however, and Callum Wilson tied things up from the penalty spot amid a ton of controversy.
The striker seemed to bump into Nacho Monreal before going down to earn the spot-kick, committing the initial foul himself. As shared by ESPN FC's Mattias Karen, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger didn't agree with the call:
Bournemouth ended the half on top, but Arsenal came out firing to start the second half, and Theo Walcott restored the lead after just a few minutes. The Gunners controlled the match from that point onwards, and Sanchez added a second goal for good measure in injury time.
The win takes Arsenal up to fourth place, just three points behind leaders Chelsea, with the busy holiday season right around the corner. Per Bleacher Report UK, the Gunners have been on quite the run:
As shared by Bleacher Report UK, the late matches got off to a thrilling start:
West Ham took an early lead against United through Diafra Sakho, but Zlatan Ibrahimovic tied things up before long.
The Red Devils dominated before half-time and kept up the pace after the break, taking advantage of a dreadful Hammers performance. But as noted by Sport Witness, the lack of a second goal was glaring:
The second goal never came, as United were held to a draw and now find themselves 11 points off the top.
Everton were drab in their loss against Southampton, as Charlie Austin wasted little time handing the hosts the lead. The Toffees never came close to tying things up, continuing their inconsistent campaign.
In Sunday's early match, Stoke City grabbed a 1-0 win over Watford thanks to an own-goal from goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes.
