Recap

It was all about Pogba as the Red Devils ran riot in Manchester. The world's most expensive player produced two classy finishes to overwhelm the visitors.

His first came from the spot, before a stylish long-range drive just before half time. Pogba was the star man even on a night when United also received exceptional performances from skipper Wayne Rooney, Juan Mata and Michael Carrick.

WhoScored.com summed up how well United's No. 6 performed:

Pogba enjoyed himself, but so did Roma talisman Francesco Totti after Stephan El Shaarawy scored twice, while Alessandro Florenzi also found the net.

They got the goals, but it was 40-year-old Totti who really pulled the strings, per Squawka:

It was an appropriate way for the ageless schemer to celebrate a landmark moment, one depicted by UEFA's official site:

Roma still top Group E despite the stalemate. Yet Athletic Bilbao rate as one of the competition's more disappointing teams so far.

The club from Spain's top flight suffered a second defeat when they were downed by Belgian side Genk. Jakub Brabec and Wilfred Ndidi found the goals, as Bilbao struggled to get their own attack clicking in the final third.

Athletic boast too much talent to be rooted to the bottom of Group F. Target man striker Aritz Aduriz, winger Inaki Williams and supporting forward Raul Garcia should be able to decide games in Europe's second-tier competition.

While Bilbao are labouring, Zenit Saint Petersburg have made a perfect start to their Europa League campaign. The Russian side made it three wins from three after coming from behind to beat Irish club Dundalk.

Two goals inside the final 20 minutes cancelled out Robbie Benson's opener. The second came from midfield playmaker Giuliano, a classy Brazilian who has been prolific as both a scorer and creator of goals:

Yevhen Konoplyanka was the hero for Schalke, scoring the only goal against Krasnodar to keep his team's perfect Europa League run alive.

The Ukraine international struck after just 10 minutes, hammering home a fantastic volley. DW Sports thought the fans of his new club would love the strike:

With Nice beating Salzburg by the same score thanks to a goal from Alassane Plea, the Ligue 1 side now chase Krasnodar by three points at the midway point of the group stages. Schalke already have one foot in the knockout stages, and they'll be gunning for top spot.

Antonio Candreva fired Inter to their first win of the Europa League, giving Fraser Forster no chance with a sublime strike. Saints dominated the first half of their clash with the Nerrazzuri but were wasteful in front of goal, especially in the first half.

Inter improved after the break, and even Marcelo Brozovic's red card couldn't turn the tide for the visitors. Per Bleacher Report's Sam Tighe, they came close near the end of the match:

Shakhtar Donetsk cruised to a 5-0 win over Racing Genk, and Fiorentina also barely broke a sweat, taking an early two-goal lead against Slovan Liberec. Nikola Kalinic scored twice, and another goal from Khouma Babacar secured the three points for La Viola.

Alexandre Pato scored the equaliser for Villarreal in their clash with Osmanlispor, but despite some late pressure, the Liga side couldn't find a winner.

United didn't exactly lay down a marker, but scoring four when not at their best is a good indication the Red Devils have the quality to win the tournament.
