Granada's Javi Marquez Names Son 'Modric,' Possibly After Real Madrid's Luka

Granada midfielder Javi Marquez's newborn son has an unusual first name, reports the Mirror.

The club took to Twitter on Thursday to announce the birth of Marquez's child, who shares a name with a direct La Liga rival: Real Madrid's Luka Modric.

While we can understand the temptation to name your newborn son after one of the best midfielders in Europe, it seems a little odd that Marquez might do so while the two of them are playing in Spain.

Even more odd is that he's opted to name his son "Modric," rather than the more traditional "Luka,"

Now, there's no confirmation that the boy has been named after the 30-year-old Croatia international, but it got us thinking: Is Kevin De Bruyne's newborn actually named after Spurs midfielder Ryan Mason?
