
Steve Gohouri, Former Wigan and Ivory Coast Defender, Dies at Age 34
Former Wigan Athletic defender Steve Gohouri was found dead in the river Rhine on Saturday. His family had reported him missing last month. He was 34.
According to Eurosport, Dusseldorf police confirmed the discovery of the Ivory Coast international's body to German outlet Rheinische Post. The Latics sent along their condolences:

The Eurosport report noted Gohouri attended a Christmas party with German club TSV Steinbach before heading for Paris to celebrate with his family, but he did not show up in the French capital. No further details about his disappearance or death were immediately released.
Gohouri spent time with numerous clubs starting in the late 1990s. Along with Wigan and Gladbach, he also made stops with Paris Saint-Germain, Young Boys and Maccabi Tel Aviv, among others.
He made 13 appearance for the Ivory Coast and scored three international goals.
