Twitter Reacts as Real Madrid Score 10 Against Rayo Vallecano

Tom WebbDec 20, 2015

Real Madrid came within a goal of equalling their biggest-ever win on Sunday when they thrashed nine-man Rayo Vallecano 10-2 at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Rafa Benitez's side trailed 2-1 after 15 minutes, but two red cards in the opening half-hour changed the game and set Real on their way to a huge victory.

Gareth Bale scored four and Karim BenzemaĀ netted a hat-trick as Los Blancos reached double figures:

It was a scoreline more associated with Sunday League football:

"

I once lost a Powerleague game 30-2.

— Adam Hurrey (@FootballCliches) December 20, 2015"

This was a bit awkward:

"

But Rayo Vallecano weren't the only La Liga side that could be embarrassedĀ by the scoreline:

"

In 90 minutes vs Rayo Vallecano, Real Madrid (10) scored more league goals than Malaga (9) have all season.
