Some folks say modern football has gone to the dogs—and they would be right if they're referring to Sao Paulo's clash with Palmeiras on Sunday.
In lieu of human children, the Brazilian Campeonato Serie A side chose to be accompanied onto the field by a selection of pooches.

The canine element gave proceedings a "Sunday league" feel, while everyone involved surely hoped the players were the only ones fouling on the field.
The furry mascots looked to be good luck, as Sao Paulo led 1-0 until the dying seconds of injury time, at which point legendary goalscoring 'keeper Rogerio Ceni made an error to concede the equaliser.
It was a ruff night for Ceni. Sorry.
