Tom SunderlandSep 15, 2015

The lines have been drawn to see who will contest this year's CONCACAF Cup after the United States and Mexico both unveiled their provisional 35-man rosters for the high-stakes clash on October 10.

The winner of the tie will gain entry to the 2017 Confederations Cup, and Grant Wahl of Sports Illustrated confirmed the two squads on Tuesday, with both outfits opting for a mix of potential and pedigree:

Mexico endured a controversial run through the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup before eventually beating Jamaica 3-1 in the final. They'll face off against 2013 Gold Cup winners the United States for a spot in Russia two years from now.

Tottenham Hotspur right-back DeAndre Yedlin, currently on loan at Sunderland, sits among the European-based stars in manager Jurgen Klinsmann's side, while Stoke City's Geoff Cameron is also called back into international duty.

Major League Soccer stars Clint Dempsey and Jozy Altidore will be expected to lead the attack, boasting more than 200 United States caps between them.

Klinsmann's U.S. team have won just one of their last four matches, and ESPN FC's Ian Darke believes experience is the primary concern for the Stars and Stripes against Mexico:

This will be interim manager Ricardo Ferretti's first major match at the Mexico helm, having taken over in August following Miguel Herrera's sacking from the position.

El Tri fans will be particularly pleased to see striker Javier Hernandez make his return to the international setup after sealing a summer move to Bayer Leverkusen from Manchester United.
