Best Golazos from World Football This Weekend

Ryan BaileyJul 12, 2015

Most European clubs returned to training last week, with several playing their first pre-season games over the weekend.

Our latest golazo ranking features fantastic friendly fire from Fenerbahce and Hoffenheim complementing competitive strikes from Norway, Japan, Argentina and North America.

Enjoy the goals, and be sure to leave a comment...

10. Nani (Fenerbahce) vs. Zob Ahan

1 of 10

Fenerbahce new boy Nani got off to an excellent start with his new employers with a wonderful goal in a friendly against Iranian side Zob Ahan on Saturday.

Fener won the tie 7-0, with the fourth goal coming from a well-taken free-kick from the former Manchester United man.

9. Elsinho (Kawasaki Frontale) vs. Tokyo

2 of 10

Kawasaki Frontale kicked off the second stage of the 2015 Japanese J-League with a 2-0 home win over FC Tokyo.

The opener came in the 52nd minute when Brazilian defender Elsinho beat the 'keeper in classy fashion with the outside of his right boot.

8. Hisato Sato (Sanfrecce Hiroshima) vs. Vegalta Sendai

Elsewhere in the J-League, Sanfrecce Hiroshima were on the victorious end of a 4-3 thriller at Vegalta Sendai.

Former Puskas Award nominee Hisato Sato scored twice for the visitors, with his finest effort coming deep in first-half injury time when he turned his body towards goal and fired off a superb first-time strike.

7. Ramiro Funes Mori (River Plate) vs. Temperley

4 of 10

The greatest free-kick of the weekend came in River Plate's Argentine Primera Division clash with Temperley.

At the half-hour mark, Ramiro Funes Mori lined up a dead ball on the edge of the area and proceeded to rifle it in at the far post.

Not a bad finish for a defender.

6. Andrew Wenger (Philadelphia Union) vs. Portland Timbers

5 of 10

The scoring in Philadelphia Union's 3-0 win over the Portland Timbers was opened in the 69th minute by Andrew Wenger, who picked up the ball on the right flank and charged towards goal before unleashing a beautiful curling shot.

Clearly, the Arsenal manager isn't the only A. Wenger capable of greatness in the game.

5. Luca Zidane (Charity Futsal Tournament)

6 of 10

Nine years ago this week, Zinedine Zidane faced a rather unceremonious exit from professional football in the World Cup final.

On Saturday, the French legend was back in action in a charity futsal tournament in Dubai, in which he played alongside his sons Enzo and Luca.

The best goal of the tournament was surely this dazzling piece of skill from Luca, who usually plays in goal for Real Madrid Juvenil B. Perhaps he should make his way further up the field a little more often.

4. Marco Donadel (Montreal Impact) vs. Columbus Crew

7 of 10

Montreal Impact went 2-0 up over Columbus Crew after just eight minutes of play on Saturday in what eventually transpired to be a 3-0 win.

The Canadian side's second was a screamer from Marco Donadel, who found the top-right corner from around 30 yards.

3. Jon Dadi Bodvarsson (Viking) vs. Aalesund

8 of 10

Viking earned a 4-1 home victory over Norwegian Tippeligaen rivals Aalesund thanks in part to a brace from Jon Dadi Bodvarsson.

The Icelandic striker scored his first with his left foot near the half-hour mark and proceeded to volley in a worldie with his right boot around 14 minutes later.

2. Robbie Keane (LA Galaxy) vs. America

9 of 10

LA Galaxy kicked off the International Champions Cup friendly tournament on Saturday evening with a 2-1 win over Mexican side Club America.

The game represented Steven Gerrard's Los Angeles debut, but the show was truly stolen by Robbie Keane, who equalised for the MLS side when he picked up a Juninho long ball with an exquisite touch.

The goal was reminiscent of Dennis Bergkamp's legendary strike in the 1998 World Cup.

1. Sven Schipplock (Hoffenheim) vs. Baiertal

10 of 10

Hoffenheim kicked off their pre-season campaign in reasonably convincing fashion, with a mere 16-0 win against minnows Baiertal (link in German).

Striker Sven Schipplock managed two goals, one of which was a volleyed backheel directly from a corner.

The German will do well to show such flair in the Bundesliga next season.
