12 Wittiest Premier League Fan Chants of the 2014/15 Season so Far
They are sometimes controversial, often a little close to the bone and usually pretty disparaging to the opposition, but sometimes chants from Premier League supporters can be pretty witty, too.
Whether it is at the expense of their opponents or rivals, or just a funny comment to pass the time between throw-ins, chants have a huge role to play in supporter culture.
Here are 12 of the best of the Premier League season so far.
West Brom Fans vs. Manchester United
1 of 12
Manchester United fans are often a source of ridicule for other supporters, and after their poor season under David Moyes and a less-than-stellar start to life under Louis van Gaal, West Bromwich Albion fans weren't shy to remind them of their supposed "fairweather" nature when they came to the Hawthorns in October.
"Next year you'll be Chelsea fans," they sang.
"Martin Tyler hears West Brom’s “Next year you’ll be Chelsea fans” chant, lightly chuckles for 10 seconds. It’s the happiest he’s ever been.

Aston Villa Fans' Chant About Jores Okore
2 of 12
Jores Okore's time at Aston Villa hasn't been a very happy one so far due to injury, but the Danish international defender is a firm favourite with supporters despite his lack of action.
Now he's returned to the team, you'll hear those same supporters serenading him with the following chant to the words of the Dean Martin song "That's Amore."
A Christian Benteke Song on a Train
3 of 12Staying with Aston Villa, this supporter was filmed on a train on the way to the match against Burnley in late November.
It's safe to say that he's a fan of Christian Benteke.
Manchester City Supporters Get Behind Joe Hart
4 of 12Again at Villa, but this time in the away end, Manchester City supporters responded to supposed difficulties over Joe Hart's contract negotiations by backing their goalkeeper to the hilt in a match at Villa Park in October.
Filmed in the concourse, the City fans sang:
"Don't sell Joe Hart, our super Joey Hart, I just don't think you'll understand.
That if you sell Joe Hart, our super Joey Hart, you're gonna have a riot on your hands.
"
'Still Be Last on Match of the Day'
5 of 12
When Southampton hammered Sunderland 8-0 at St Mary's in mid-October, it was more than just the Premier League that sat up and took notice.
Southampton's fans were less convinced that they'd be noticed though, and jokingly sang that their team would "still be last on Match of the Day" that night. (They were first).

Southampton Fans Mock Ex-Boss Pochettino
6 of 12
A couple of weeks before that Sunderland victory Southampton lost 1-0 at Tottenham, these days managed by the Saints' former boss Mauricio Pochettino.
The Argentinean was often seen with an interpreter by his side down on the south coast, but Saints fans couldn't help but notice that he'd disappeared since the manager's move to London. They weren't shy to point that out:
""Where's your translator gone?" #SaintsFC fans chant at Pochettino.

Everton Fans Compare Eto'o and Lambert
7 of 12It hasn't been a good season for either Everton or Liverpool, but that hasn't stopped the Blues supporters making comparisons between the two squads.
These days Everton can call upon the three-time Champions League winner and four-time African Footballer of the Year Samuel Eto'o, whilst Liverpool have the ex-Macclesfield, Stockport, Rochdale and Bristol Rovers forward Rickie Lambert.
A chant ensued...
Crystal Palace Enjoy Facing Liverpool Again
8 of 12
It's hardly original, but Crystal Palace supporters weren't slow to point out that they currently hold the Indian sign over Liverpool during last month's 3-1 victory at Selhurst Park, the scene of the Reds' infamous 3-3 draw last season.

Sunderland Fans Lend Their Support for Alan Pardew
9 of 12
With a record which now reads four defeats in a row in Tyne-Wear derbies, it is no wonder that Sunderland supporters are big fans of the Newcastle manager Alan Pardew.
Back in September when the Magpies boss appeared on the verge of the sack, Mackems fans were quick to lend their support during a match at Burnley.

Swansea Fans Back Garry Monk
10 of 12
After Swansea boss Garry Monk hit the headlines for saying Stoke winger Victor Moses "should be ashamed of himself" for winning a penalty in a match in October, the Swans' supporters were quick to back their outspoken manager and former centre-back.
""Garry Monk, he says what he wants," is the chant from Swansea fans.

Liverpool's Lengthy Sturridge Song
11 of 12Daniel Sturridge is still out injured, but when he returns to the Liverpool team, then we might start hearing this lengthy chant from the Kop.
It goes on for about as long as he's spent on this pitch so far this season, but it's pretty good.
The Gerrard One
12 of 12
And of course, we can't finish without highlighting the chant about Steven Gerrard's role in Liverpool failing to win last season's Premier League title following his slip against Chelsea.
It might well have become the unofficial anthem of the campaign, but at least the man himself seems to be taking it in good spirits.
