John Terry, Arsene Wenger Among Football Figures to Voice Tube Announcements

Sean FayOct 29, 2014

Chelsea captain John Terry and Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger are among a group of London football figures who will voice announcements on the London Underground.

The initiative is part of Poppy Day, which takes place on Thursday, when a number of celebrities will be heard throughout the Tube network.

Football figures' voices will be used at the stations nearest to stadiums, with figures from Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, QPR and Fulham all being used at the following stations:

Arsenal (Arsene Wenger and Mikel Arteta): Arsenal, Holloway Road, Finsbury Park

Chelsea (John Terry): Fulham Broadway, Earl's Court, West Brompton

Tottenham (Andros Townsend and Ben Davies): Seven Sisters, Tottenham Hale, Tottenham Court Road

QPR (Joey Barton and Rob Green): White City, Wood Lane, Shepherd's Bush Market

Fulham (Scott Parker and Dan Burn): Putney Bridge, Parson's Green

West Ham will also be represented at the Upton Park and West Ham stations, but the club figures that will voice the announcements have not been revealed on the London Underground website.

However, with Arsenal nine points behind Chelsea, and even two behind West Ham, we just hope the London Underground don't get Wenger to say "Mind The Gap" too many times.
