Arsenal new boy Alexis Sanchez stole most of the headlines, as his strike put Arsenal through to their 17th consecutive Champions League group stage against Besiktas.
But there was plenty of tabloid fodder as Monday's transfer deadline approaches, and Manchester United are still looking for reinforcements even with their recent capture of Angel Di Maria.
There was also a shock injury scare for Chelsea striker Diego Costa.
