Half-time analysis

Szczesny: Wasn't at fault for either goal but was caught flapping at a few crosses.

Sagna: Has his hands full opposite Silva.

Mertesacker: One of his poorer periods of the season to date.

Koscielny: Was carried off on a stretcher in the 42nd minute.

Monreal: Has a point to prove in a rare start.

Ramsey: Decent defensively but a substandard passing accuracy.

Flamini: Executed four tackles in the first half.

Walcott: Repaid his manager's faith with a goal just after the half-hour mark.

Ozil: Picked up an assist on Walcott's goal.

Wilshere: Looks rather isolated out on the left.

Giroud: Has yet to have meaningful touch of the ball.

Vermaelen: Came on to replace Koscielny.

Full-time analysis

Szczesny: Seven of City's shots were on target, and six of them found their way past him.

Sagna: Delivered a nice cross for Mertesacker to head into goal.

Mertesacker: Hit tally didn't cover up a poor performance in his own half of the pitch.

Koscielny: Was carried off on a stretcher in the 42nd minute.

Monreal: Was run into the ground by Zabaleta and Nasri.

Ramsey: Picked up an assist on one of the Walcott goals.

Flamini: Completed 93% of his passes before being substituted

Walcott: The lone bright spot of the afternoon for Arsenal.

Ozil: An error-filled game by the typically efficient midfielder.

Wilshere: Contributed very, very little.

Giroud: See above.

Vermaelen: Reminded everyone why Koscielny is preferred.

Gnabry: Passed well enough but didn't provide much of a presence in the centre of the park.

Bendtner: Had a goal stroked off for offside.
