Julian Draxler Admits Talks with Mesut Ozil and Per Mertesacker About Arsenal
Julian Draxler has spoken to Per Mertesacker and Mesut Ozil about life at Arsenal but rules out a switch to the Premier League in January.
The Schalke starlet—who appeared as a second-half substitute during Germany's recent defeat of England—suggests he is willing to consider his future at the conclusion of the current Bundesliga season, reported by the Press Association and via FIFA's official website:
"I have said every summer I have to look what is the best for me and I will do in the summer again and we will see what happens.
"
But no way. I won't switch then (in January). I have always said English teams are very big clubs and Arsenal is of course one of them.

Arsenal have led the way for German stars establishing themselves in England, as Mertesacker and Ozil continue to play a key role in the Gunners' rise to the top of this season's Premier League. With Lukas Podolski and Serge Gnabry at the club, Arsene Wenger's German ranks are stacked.
Draxler compliments the team's style and emphasis on development, hinting North London could be an attractive prospect in the future:
"Of course I sometimes speak to Mesut or Per about the team, about the club, and they always have good words and they tell me nice things.
"
You never know what happens in the summer, but Arsenal is a very, very nice team. They always have very young players, they play attractive football and that is what I like.
Draxler continues to perform an important role for Jens Keller's side. The versatile German has scored three goals and provided four assists in 15 appearances this season, reported by WhoScored.com.
His willingness to play anywhere behind the forward line ensures the all-action attacking midfielder is never too far away from the ball, probing and prompting as the Gelsenkirchen side look to unlock opposition defence. With an awful lot of football left to go this season, he understandably wants to play down links to Wenger's side:
"I better not speak too much about it because tomorrow I can read in the (English) newspapers that I like to play for Arsenal - I think the people at Schalke would not like to hear that.
"
The player's admission that he discusses Arsenal with some of their key players underlines the fact Wenger's club are becoming increasingly attractive to young and established stars. With Sir Alex Ferguson now retired, Wenger's lure is the most iconic in the Premier League, something highlighted by Ozil's £42.5 million capture in the summer.
Draxler also outlines England as a "very strong and a young team with players like Jack Wilshere," once again focusing on Arsenal's representation within the squad.
Although the German is also linked with moves to Manchester United and Chelsea, reported by Jack Wilson of the Daily Star, his comments may just give Wenger the edge in a transfer battle that is likely to arrive sooner or later.
