Premier League Week 12 Fixtures: Full Picks and Predictions for Matchday 12
Thank goodness that's over.
International weeks are always one of the tougher times if you're a football fan. Sure, there can be some good matches on, but as a whole, it doesn't match the action you see in the Premier League, La Liga, the Bundesliga, Serie A, etc.
Fear not, as European football is back this weekend, and there are some great matchups in England. The table could be looking quite different by the time Week 12 is through.

Top Matches to Watch
Everton vs. Liverpool
Not having David Moyes on the touchline could be a boost for Everton. He had just four wins in 25 matches against the Reds during his time at Goodison Park. Part of the reason for that was that he would have Everton playing for the draw. The tactics weren't adventurous enough to get three points.
That won't be a problem with Roberto Martinez. The Toffees have the same defensive organization, but Martinez isn't afraid to take off the shackles and play for the win against clubs higher up the table.
That organized defense will be tested against Liverpool. The Reds were flying in their 4-0 win over Fulham, and Philippe Coutinho's return has meant that Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez aren't isolated up top.
Still, it's hard not to see this one as a draw. The Merseyside derby is generally a chippy affair, where the scoring chances are scarce. Goals will be at a premium.
Prediction: Everton 1, Liverpool 1
Arsenal vs. Southampton
It's comical listening to people who argue that Arsenal aren't title contenders, as if everything the Gunners have done this season means nothing.
I've been a very harsh critic of Arsenal, especially when it came to their transfer business and the prospective signing of Mesut Ozil. But after this start, there's no denying Ozil's impact and how well Arsenal have been playing.
Southampton haven't been too bad, either, and sit just three points behind the Gunners. Mauricio Pochettino has worked wonders with this side, and the Saints midfield has been a joy to watch.
However, their performance away from home hasn't been too impressive. While Southampton have won four and drawn two at St Mary's Stadium, they've won two, drawn two and lost one when playing away.
Arsenal will be able to nullify the Southampton midfield and take control of the game. They had that hiccup against Manchester United, but sometimes that happens. The Gunners aren't the first to suffer from the Continental hangover.
Looking to rebound from that loss, they'll have a sterling performance on Saturday.
Prediction: Arsenal 2, Southampton 0
Manchester City vs. Tottenham Hotspur
The signs point to Manchester City having a big response after that dismal 1-0 loss to Sunderland.
City have played much better at home this season, winning all five of their league matches at the Etihad. And they always play up to their competition—think back to that 4-1 demolition of Manchester United.
There's no doubting that Manchester City have the pieces to win the league. It's a matter of everything coming together and the players actually being up for it. Against opponents like Spurs, that shouldn't be a problem.
Tottenham have their own problems to worry about, namely the performance of Roberto Soldado. The Spanish striker has failed to make much of an impact.
Part of it is him not getting the kind of service he needs. Soldado isn't going to drop toward midfield and run at the goal. He's there to score goals and not much else.
However, he's complicit in this, too. When receiving the ball, Soldado hasn't exactly looked like a £26 million striker.
City should win this one. The midfield battle between the two clubs will be a wash, and City's strikers will do more with their scoring opportunities.
Prediction: Manchester City 2, Tottenham Hotspur 1
