Norwich City: Slow the Skid

Norwich has struggled in its last two EPL matches, outscored 9-3 in two lopsided matches. The Canaries took an early lead against Chelsea on Oct. 6 after Grant Holt netted a strike in the 11th minute but couldn’t hold it.

The EPL’s top team answered with four straight goals to turn the possible upset into a lopsided blowout. Fortunately for Norwich, it returns home for this match against Arsenal, but the competition doesn’t get much easier.

It’s been a rough start to the slate for Norwich, who have scored just five goals this season. After a broken foot sidelined on-loan forward Harry Kane at the end of September, the offensive load has fallen on Holt.

Holt leads the team with two goals, while also adding an assist. He will need to create some strong offensive opportunities against Arsenal for Norwich to have a chance.

The Canaries have three EPL draws this season, including one against a tough Tottenham Hotspur squad. It is going to take a top-level effort to get points out of this match on Saturday.

Arsenal: Get Back on Track

The EPL takes a break from competition for the World Cup qualifying, a blessing and a curse. The international competition can provide much-needed game experience, but it also hinders momentum, flow and continuity.

Arsenal is looking to rebuild its momentum after the break. The Gunners dropped a tough 2-1 decision to Chelsea on Sept. 29 but bounced back with a 3-1 defeat of West Ham. Then, the international break happened, killing momentum.

The Gunners will look to return to form against a struggling Norwich squad. Arsene Wenger will be looking for his squad to play a complete, technically sound match.

Arsenal plays the bottom two teams in the EPL for the next two matches (Norwich and Queens Park Rangers) before facing Manchester United on Nov. 3.

Santi Cazorla and Gervinho will look to get the Arsenal offense firing on all cylinders before a tough stretch of schedule. These are important points for the Gunners to pick up if they want to make up early ground in the EPL table.

Expect a strong performance from Arsenal that could turn into a statement game if Norwich isn’t careful.

Prediction

Arsenal has too many weapons and a sense of urgency to pick up points in this match. Expect the Gunners to get on the board early. Norwich will respond, but it should be Arsenal running away with this one.

Arsenal picks up another road win, 4-1.
