Arsenal's Andre Santos Was Arrested for 130 MPH Maserati Car Chase

Quick, who's not so bright and travels at 130 miles per hour with cops on his tail?

Andre Santos was riding the bench during the Gunners' draw versus Sunderland on Saturday, but it turns out things were far more eventful for him just hours prior. 

The Sun reports the football star was driving recklessly away from police trying to detain him at speeds reaching 130 mph.

The Arsenal defender is also said to have weaved in and out of rush-hour traffic in his Maserati GranTurismo supercar...Santos gunned his black Maserati to stretch ahead of pursuing police, it was claimed yesterday.

Cops were said to have struggled to keep up as the Brazilian international shot away at speeds of up to 130mph in the £110,000 car.

The report claims he could face jail time because of this, but the other odd part remains that he finally stopped a mere 500 yards from the Arsenal training ground. 

Yahoo Sports has a far more restrained account of the driving escapade. Their report doesn't state the speed Santos was traveling at, but does state the Maserati was "being driven erratically," causing police to initially request he stop. 

The funky driving was enough for them to go on an impromptu car chase, but the finale wasn't enough for them to test his sobriety because the report issues a breathalyzer was not administered. 

I am guessing a very sober Santos got out of his expensive ride and came up with the best excuse possible. 

The Gunners may want to have a cab take Santos around town for the time being. He did cost them $8.7 million when he was bought from Fenerbahce, after all. 

I would also very much like to see video of this amazing car chase if anyone finds that lying around.
