New York Jets Playoff Scenarios: Assessing Jets' Chances of Making the Field
If the season were to end today, the Jets would be in as a wild card. They were able to skate through the easy stretch of the end of the schedule, but the final three games turn tricky.
The final games against Philadelphia, New York and Miami are all winnable, but they're also tricky games. Should the Jets lose this afternoon against the Eagles, the game against the Giants and Dolphins immediately become must-wins.
Even though the Broncos have been winning, the Jets are benefiting greatly from the demise of the Raiders. Even if the Broncos lose to the Patriots today, they still have two easy games against the Chiefs and Bills that are certainly winnable.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Don't forget about the Titans as well, as their remaining three games set up well. They face Indianapolis before hosting Jacksonville and traveling to Houston for the season finale—all very winnable games. The Titans can still finish 10-6.
As a result, while the Jets control their destiny, their path to the postseason is not as clear-cut as it seems. I believe the Jets are good enough of a team to beat all three of their remaining opponents, especially if they keep playing at this high level. However, one slip-up could cost their season, as the remaining schedules of the other wild-card contenders are strikingly easy.
The real key as to whether or not the Jets can win out is the play of their offensive line. When Sanchez gets protection and the running game get going, the Jets are a multi-dimensional offense that can be tough to defend, which can keep their defense on the bench and well-rested.
If they can do that, they have a great chance of reaching the postseason for a third straight year.
