NFL Power Rankings Week 15: Packers' Perfection Guaranteed This Week and Beyond
You could almost make a case to hate the Packers if they weren't so damn fun to watch. The best continue to get better as they close out the perfect season.
The Packers continue to issue that they have no reason to shoot for a perfect season, simply valuing home field over all other accolades. Well, despite their cliche stance, they are going to get that pesky label as a perfect team headed into the postseason.
First, let's talk about their shortcomings on defense. I expected their soft secondary to have boiled over by now, delivering them at least a couple of losses.
While defense wins championships, it seems a perfect offense will mask just about any shortcomings on the other side of the ball.
Now for the good news that borders on great fortune. The Packers are headed into a final three-game stretch that has them playing teams that are a collective 5-11 in the last five games.
Momentum is all on their side at the moment.
Kansas City Chiefs: First up is the Kansas City Chiefs who have no consistency on offense to speak of. This should be a cake walk, even if the Packers slightly take their foot off the gas.
This is the team that you want in the closing moments of the season, one that has to bring in an interim coach and try and forget a season that has been disastrous.
Chicago Bears: Speaking of horrible offenses, the Bears are truly awful without their two main weapons in Jay Cutler and Matt Forte.
It's unlikely that the Bears will figure out a way to get points on the board with a battered cast by the time the Packers game come around. That leaves just one team looking to leave a loss on the board.
Detroit Lions: The Lions put up a great fight in Week 12 against the Packers and still got whacked. They don't have the pass rush to make a difference in most games, but Aaron Rodgers is not most quarterbacks.
There is no reason to expect anything different as the Lions try and win at Lambeau. Welcome to 16-0, Green Bay Packers.
