NFL Playoff Picture: Cowboys Risk Missing Playoffs After Consecutive Choke Jobs
All I do is lose, lose, lose no matter what…remix!
Ladies and gentlemen, it's official: the Dallas Cowboys are the anti-Denver Broncos. Tim Tebow and company simply find ways to win football games. The Cowboys on the other hand find ways to blow it and after back-to-back choke jobs, they’re in danger of missing the postseason.
On Sunday Night Football, Dallas blew an 11-point fourth-quarter lead to the New York Giants. Tony Romo and company were on fire all game long, but late in the fourth, they couldn’t milk the clock and keep the football out of Eli Manning’s hands. Romo did manage to lead the Cowboys down the field setting up Dan Bailey for a 47-yard field goal to tie the game and he hit it, but for the second week in a row, a time out, this time by Tom Coughlin, forced Bailey to kick again and Jason Pierre-Paul blocked it.

Dallas is now tied with New York for the NFC East divisional lead at 7-6. In Week 17, the two play in New York. With a win, the Giants would own the tie-breaker between the two teams virtually guaranteeing a divisional title.
Not the division, but the playoffs are what the Cowboys should be worried about losing, though.
Next week, Dallas will be forced to travel to Tampa Bay to face off against the Buccaneers. Josh Freeman’s crew may be slumping, but nothing is a given for America’s Team as the Cowboys are 2-4 on the road. The week after, Dallas is scheduled to play its bitter rival the Philadelphia Eagles, a team that massacred the Cowboys 34-7 in Week 8.
Failing to come away victorious in two out of those three games will result in Jerry Jones’ ballclub coming up short of the postseason in 2011.
