DeSean Jackson: Who Should Take Chance on Disgruntled Philadelphia Eagles Star?
One thing seems abundantly clear, and that is that DeSean Jackson's future is not in Philadelphia. We all know what he can do, but there seems to be a genuine disconnect this season that's not going to be solved.
Jackson wants a new contract. However, right now, he's not coming off as anything more than a pouting star athlete. If you don't believe me, check out his postgame interview.
Jackson's always been talented. There is absolutely no denying that. However, his antics have got in the way of production. Who can forget when he dropped the ball on the one-yard line in 2008? That didn't cost his team a touchdown, but that was pure luck.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
His attitude now seems to be hurting his production. He's not going to get any better in Philadelphia, but what teams out there should take a chance on him?
I am looking at three teams in particular.
In no specific order, they are the Green Bay Packers, the New England Patriots and the New Orleans Saints.
There are other teams that could use his services, don't get me wrong. For example, the San Francisco 49ers could absolutely use someone to bring a vertical threat to their offense. However, in spite of his good season, it's not like Alex Smith is the clear leader of the team.
In Green Bay, it's Aaron Rodgers. In New England, it's Brady. In New Orleans, it's Brees. The pouting doesn't work with those guys. Their personalities are too strong and the leadership of the team is clearly behind those guys.
Jackson needs a quarterback that will kick him in the butt when he gets down. More importantly, he needs a quarterback that has the backing of the team.
On paper, plenty of teams can use Jackson. He's a stellar receiver that creates genuine matchup issues. Even if he's "shut down" by his opponents, they need to respect his big play ability and cover deep. That opens up the rest of the field in a big way.
That all sounds good and he's certainly been productive at times for the Eagles. Ask any Giants fan how dangerous Jackson actually is.
Unfortunately, his attitude is getting in the way. Until he goes to a place with a clear leader to prevent that from happening, this will be a never-ending cycle.
What Jackson is doing now is limiting his options. With his talent, I shouldn't be saying that he'll only work well in three of 32 places. However, given what we've seen, I have no reason to believe otherwise.
