NFL Power Rankings: 5 Teams with the Best Super Bowl Odds

Kyle VassaloJun 7, 2018

One week into the season, there are teams that have already made it clear that they are destined for greatness.

While there is still a lot of football to play, the teams sitting atop the Power Rankings right now are head-and-shoulders above their competition.

Week 1 helped us to weed out the contenders from the pretenders. While there are a number of teams who could sneak into the playoffs and make a deep run, these teams are going to be tough to get past in the postseason.

Here are the five teams with the best Super Bowl odds heading into Week 2.

No. 5 Philadelphia Eagles

2 of 6

The Eagles went on the road and got a victory in Week 1, silencing the critics who thought that the hype they created in the offseason would force them to get off to a slow start.

The Eagles have an explosive offense and added elite defenders to form one of the most talent-laden teams in the entire league.

The NFC East is the Eagles for the taking. The Redskins are the only other team who managed to win in Week 1, making the Eagles chances of winning the division and even obtaining a first-round bye likely.

An early postseason exit doesn't appear in the works for Philadelphia.

No. 4 Chicago Bears

3 of 6

The Bears are well on their way to making it back to the NFC Championship.

They've been written off by many, but after a resounding performance against the Falcons, it is clear that they are going to be the team to challenge the Packers in the NFC.

They added Pro Bowl safety Brandon Meriweather to an already top-flight defense. With the addition of offensive weapons, Jay Cutler finally has something that resembles a receiving corps to get the ball to.

The Bears aren't going to simply hand over the NFC North crown.

No. 3 New England Patriots

4 of 6

The New England Patriots blew away the Miami Dolphins on Monday Night Football, with Tom Brady throwing for more than 500 yards.

Against a better team, they might have the best odds of any team to win a Super Bowl.

The Patriots being spectacular in the regular season is nothing new. The problem is that they've been inexplicably bad in the postseason in recent years.

They have Super Bowl-or-bust expectations every year and though their offseason gambles haven't paid dividends yet, there's no way they can be ranked lower than third.

No. 2 Green Bay Packers

5 of 6

The Green Bay Packers looked fantastic in their opener. The Saints gave them a great test and the Packers came away with flying colors.

Repeating is incredibly difficult. The Packers face an uphill battle this season, even though they have a superstar quarterback and complete defense.

The Packers have been there before and with superstars returning to full health, the Packers are better right now than they were when they took the whole thing.

If not for one juggernaut AFC team stealing the show in Week 1, the Packers could feel confident in their hopes of repeating.

No. 1 Baltimore Ravens

6 of 6

The Baltimore Ravens started off the season by humiliating the team who represented the AFC in the Super Bowl last season.

They forced seven turnovers and completely dismantled the Steelers in a manner that let everyone know that this was going to be a special year for Baltimore.

They have a great running game and quite possibly the best defense in the league. With future Hall of Famers Ed Reed and Ray Lewis leading the way, it's hard to see any team moving the ball on their defense. A Super Bowl in Baltimore would be a storybook ending to Lewis' historic career.

With Haloti Ngata showing early signs of being a serious contender for the Defensive Player of the Year Award, this is the best Ravens team we've seen since 2000.
