2011 NBA Mock Draft: Updated Draft Order After Last-Minute Trades

David DanielsJun 23, 2011

With the recent three-team swap between the Sacramento Kings, Charlotte Bobcats, and Milwaukee Bucks, every single 2011 NBA Mock Draft is officially trash.

Here is an updated first round mock after today's blockbuster trade:

1. Cleveland Cavaliers: Kyrie Irving

There's really hasn't ever been much debate as to who would be selected No. 1.  It's been Kyrie Irving since Cleveland won the draft lottery.

2. Minnesota Timberwolves: Derrick Williams

David Kahn has been frantically trying to trade the second overall pick, but at the same time he's being stubborn about any trade offers.  When it's all said and done, the T-Wolves will take the best player available in Derrick Williams.

3. Utah Jazz: Enes Kanter

In sports, defense wins championships.  In basketball, size equals defense.  Enes Kanter is as pro ready as big men come.

4. Cleveland Cavaliers: Tristan Thompson

It's going to come down to Jones Valanciunas and Tristan Thompson.  You know Dan Gilbert wants to win now and he can't do that with Valanciunas.

5. Toronto Raptors: Brandon Knight

The Raptors add Brandon Knight to their future back court alongside Demar Derozan.  If all goes well for Toronto, which it probably won't, they'll have two All-Stars side by side in a couple of years.

6. Washington Wizards: Jan Vesely

Rashard Lewis isn't going to be running the break with John Wall in three years.  The Wizards need a future small forward, and what's more exciting than a 6'11" wing that can fly?

7. Charlotte Bobcats (From Trade): Kawhi Leonard

The Bobcats gave up Gerald Wallace for nothing before the trading deadline last season.  They basically get a younger version of him in Kawhi Leonard.

8. Detroit Pistons: Jonas Valanciunas

The Pistons aren't going to be contending any time soon so they can wait a year for Jonas Valanciunas.  Greg Monroe's going to have to survive without a threat at center next to him for just one more year.

9. Charlotte Bobcats: Bismack Biyombo

Charlotte filled their need at small forward and now they're set at center with Bismack Biyombo.  I'm sure Bobcat fans will love the fact that they just added two of the most athletic players in the draft to their roster.

10. Sacramento Kings (From Trade): Jimmer Fredette

And the cries heard round the world will be heard from Utah.  The Kings traded away Beno Udrih so now they must take a point guard in the first round.

11. Golden State Warriors: Klay Thompson

Jerry West now gets his man without Milwaukee to grab Klay Thompson a pick earlier.  The Warriors don't need another outside shooter, but why not?

12. Utah Jazz: Alec Burks

What the Jazz need isn't a point guard so no, not Kemba Walker.  They need someone able to play alongside Devin Harris.  Jimmer could've been that guy, Alec Burks is that guy.

13. Phoenix Suns: Marcus Morris

If they picked Steve Nash's backup when he's trying to contend for a title, he would throw a fit, behind the scenes of course.  The Suns will take a player that will help Nash, not someone to help their future.

14. Houston Rockets: Chris Singleton

There's no center talented enough to pick at this spot, so Houston chooses to upgrade at small forward instead.  Chris Singleton would be an instant upgrade to Chase Budinger.

15. Indiana Pacers: Markieff Morris

Jeff Foster can't be your first big off the bench if you want to win games.  Markieff Morris is a huge upgrade for the Pacers bench and would help spread the floor for Roy Hibbert and a penetrating Darren Collison.

16. Philadelphia 76ers: Jordan Hamilton

Jordan Hamilton possesses the perimeter shooting ability the 76ers don't have right now.  He has great size too as they could also use some help on the boards.

17. New York Knicks: Kemba Walker

Kemba Walker slides all the way to the Knicks who are absolutely ecstatic.  New York's Big Three target now switches from Chris Paul to Dwight Howard.

18. Washington Wizards: Iman Shumpert

The Wizards have nothing behind John Wall right now.  Iman Shumpert would be a huge upgrade and would add some defense to a team with Nick Young who would rather just stay on the offensive end of the court.

19. Milwaukee Bucks (From Trade): Tobias Harris

With the Bucks need at shooting guard filled by adding Stephen Jackson, they now need a small forward because they gave up Corey Maggette.  Tobias Harris who could also play power forward would do the trick.

20. Minnesota Timberwolves: Marshon Brooks

The T-Wolves didn't start a true shooting guard last year instead starting Wesley Johnson at the two.  Marshon Brooks is one of the best scorers in the draft and is a steal at the point in the first round.

21. Portland Trailblazers: Kenneth Faried

The Trail Blazers need to upgrade their front court depth.  They have nothing behind LaMarcus Aldridge or Marcus Camby if Greg Oden doesn't return, but Kenneth Faried would change that.

22. Denver Nuggets: Donatas Motiejunas

Kenyon Martin is a free agent and Al Harrington is horrible.  Donatas Motiejunas is a raw talent, but he'd have a chance to start right away in Denver.

23. Houston Rockets: Nikola Vucevic

Chuck Hayes at 6'6" is the Rockets current starting center.  All you need to know is that Nikola Vucevic is 7'0" to know that this selection would be an upgrade.

24. Oklahoma City: Kyle Singler

The Thunder have no one that can score off their bench besides James Harden who should be starting anyway.  That would change with Kyle Singler who's a sharp shooter that OKC desperately needs.

25. Boston Celtics: Jeremy Tyler

It's all Danny Ainge's fault.  The Celtics wouldn't have to reach for a center if he didn't trade away Kendrick Perkins.  At least Jeremy Tyler's potential is through the roof.

26. Dallas Mavericks: Nikola Mirotic

As soon as Dirk Nowitzki retires, Dallas has Dirk Nowitzki Jr. ready to step up.  Nikola Mirotic could be a lethal offensive weapon for the Mavericks in a few years.

27. New Jersey Nets: Jimmy Butler

The Nets need an upgrade at the small forward position.  They aren't going to contend with the best in the East with Travis Outlaw and Damien James as their best defense against LeBron James and Paul Pierce.

28. Chicago Bulls: Reggie Jackson

Chicago needs scoring off the bench, and a lot of it.  Jackson will be able to play next to and backup Derrick Rose.

29. San Antonio Spurs: David Bertans

San Antonio has had so much success with international players they probably won't change up their approach.  David Bertans will be able to replace Richard Jefferson in a few years.

30. Chicago Bulls: Josh Selby

Yeah, he's really, really raw, but Josh Selby is too talented to fall out of the first round.  The Bulls are good enough that they can risk a pick in the back of the first round on a project.
