Klay Thompson to Return from Thumb Injury vs. Kings
The Golden State Warriors will receive a boost from the return of shooting guard Klay Thompson for their game against the Sacramento Kings.
Thompson told ESPN's Chris Haynes he will be back Saturday after missing the past eight games with a fractured right thumb.
Thompson's last appearance for the Warriors came March 11 in a 109-103 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The injury occurred during the second quarter when Thompson attempted to steal the ball as Jeff Teague was driving past him. He immediately grabbed his hand and was favoring it throughout the second half, though he still played nearly 40 minutes.
With Thompson's return to the lineup, Golden State is starting to get healthy for the postseason. Kevin Durant came back Thursday against the Milwaukee Bucks after missing six games with an incomplete rib cartilage fracture.
Stephen Curry remains on the shelf with a Grade 2 MCL sprain he suffered March 23 against the Atlanta Hawks.
Thompson ranks third on the Warriors with 19.7 points per game and is shooting a career-high 44.2 percent from three-point range this season.
