Paul Pierce Wore Nets Shorts When Signing 1-Day Contract with Celtics
Paul Pierce spent the final four years of his decorated career on three different teams, but history will remember his 15 seasons with the Boston Celtics.
The Truth, however, still hasn't forgotten Celtics team president Danny Ainge sending him to the Brooklyn Nets in 2013.
In arguably the biggest heist in the history of sports, Ainge sent Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Jason Terry—all veterans years past their primes—to the Brooklyn Nets for a slew of underperformers and an avalanche of draft picks including a 2016 first-round pick (Jaylen Brown), this year's first-rounder (Jayson Tatum) and next year's unprotected first-rounder.

Pierce can't blame Boston for turning over-the-hill stars into a promising future, but he also has made no secret of his love for the Celtics.
On Monday, he signed an honorary one-day contract with the Celtics, who drafted him in 1998.
Those pictures from the team's Twitter account show him donning black-and-white shorts under his green Celtics shorts. According to ESPN.com's Jackie MacMullan, he wore Nets apparel and playfully reminded Ainge of ending his Boston tenure.
"Hey Danny, see this?'' Pierce said. "This is where you sent me!"
After briefly rejoining the Celtics, the 39-year-old officially retired.
"Like I said from the beginning," Pierce told MacMullan. "I always wanted to retire as a Celtic. We did it quietly. No need to make a spectacle out of it."
