The AL West has become the division to watch after a surprising 2-6 stretch by the Houston Astros, who are now tied with the Texas Rangers for first place.

The Astros dropped two out of three games against the lowly Athletics, losing Sunday's series finale 7-6 after the Athletics overcame a 6-0 deficit.

While the Rangers are now fighting for the division crown, they're also clinging to the last AL Wild Card spot thanks to their tiebreaker over the Cleveland Guardians, who have won four straight games.

Over in the National League, the Philadelphia Phillies are making things interesting as they close the gap with the Braves for the NL East lead. After winning their ninth straight game on Sunday with a six-run ninth inning for a comeback victory over the St. Louis Cardinals, the Phillies are the hottest team in baseball.
