Jeanie Buss Says Lonzo Ball Is Exciting to Watch, Won't Discuss Paul George

Tyler ConwayJul 10, 2017

Los Angeles Lakers president Jeanie Buss described rookie guard Lonzo Ball as "exciting to watch" in a brief interview with TMZ Sports on Sunday.

"I think he's exciting to watch, and I think we have a lot of exciting players on the Lakers this year—a lot of good, young talent," Buss said. "We have the great Luke Walton as our coach and Magic Johnson, and the future looks bright."

Buss also refused to discuss the potential that the Lakers could sign Paul George, who was traded by the Indiana Pacers to the Oklahoma City Thunder. George will be an unrestricted free agent next summer and is a Southern California native.

While George is known to prefer playing for the Lakers, Buss cannot comment on a player under contract with another team because of the NBA's tampering rules. Some said Johnson bordered on tampering with his comments about George on Jimmy Kimmel Live in April.

Ball, the No. 2 overall pick in last month's draft, has been the biggest attraction of Las Vegas Summer League. Tickets sold out in advance for the first time ever ahead of Saturday's games, which featured the Lakers and Boston Celtics atop the marquee, per Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.com.

General admission tickets, priced at $30, were sold for more than eight times that much on resale sites, according to Youngmisuk. Two courtside seats with a face value of $800 sold for $5,150.

Ball is averaging 8.0 points on 25 percent shooting, 8.0 assists and 7.5 rebounds per contest through his first two summer-league games.
