
Knicks Rumors: Derrick Rose Reportedly Still a Potential PG Option
Despite a tumultuous first year together, the New York Knicks and free agent Derrick Rose could reunite next season.
Per ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski (via ESPN.com's Ian Begley), the Knicks have "some interest" in bringing back Rose, which was also the case before they parted ways with team president Phil Jackson on Wednesday.
ESPN.com's Jeff Goodman noted the Knicks are looking at Rose because they "don't have a ton of quality point guard options on the board right now."
Begley added the Knicks have reached out to Rose about bringing him back and that some within the organization like George Hill but they "would likely need to clear out cap space to make a competitive offer."
Earlier Saturday, Begley reported Hill was New York's top target in free agency and that the team wants a veteran point guard to help 2017 first-round pick Frank Ntilikina develop.
Rose appeared in 64 games for the Knicks last season after being acquired in a trade with the Chicago Bulls in June. The 2010-11 NBA MVP averaged 18 points per game, his best mark since 2011-12.
