Kevin Durant Responds to Chris Paul Trade to Rockets with Emojis on Twitter
Kevin Durant apparently doesn't think much about his newest competition in the Western Conference.
As Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey announced on Twitter, the franchise acquired perennial All-Star point guard Chris Paul on Wednesday, making last season's No. 3 seed a legitimate contender to beat the reigning NBA champion Golden State Warriors.
Based on this response on Twitter, Durant doesn't seem to take the threat seriously:
Considering the Warriors went 16-1 in the 2017 postseason, it will take a lot for any team to beat this group.
The Rockets might not be finished adding to their team, though. According to Tim MacMahon of ESPN, Houston believes it will get either Carmelo Anthony or Paul George as well.
That squad would certainly be a formidable opponent for the Warriors as they try to win a third title in four years.
Golden State, which presumably will still have four All-Stars next year in Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Durant, is difficult to guard. Scoring 113.2 points per 100 possessions, according to NBA.com, the Warriors were the only team with a more potent offense than the Rockets.
With Paul in town, though, Houston has emerged as a legit threat to the Warriors, even if Durant disagrees.
