Charles Woodson Gave Marshawn Lynch Permission to Wear No. 24 with Raiders

Zac WassinkApr 26, 2017

Running back Marshawn Lynch officially returned to the NFL on Wednesday when the Seattle Seahawks traded his rights to the Oakland Raiders, and he will be able to wear a familiar number with his new team.

Per Michael Gehlken of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Lynch's mom, Delisa, told Bay Area radio station 95.7 The Game that former Oakland defensive back Charles Woodson gave the 31-year-old permission to wear No. 24 with the Raiders.

As Nunzio Ingrassia of Fox Sports explained, Woodson, a nine-time Pro Bowler, wore that number throughout his 11 years with the Raiders. Meanwhile, Beast Mode rocked No. 24 during his tenure with the Seahawks.
