Liverpool Transfer News: Fresh Rumours on Ryan Sessegnon and Maxwel Cornet
Liverpool are at the head of a queue of Premier League clubs looking to sign Fulham teenager Ryan Sessegnon.
That's according to Neil Fissler of the Sunday Express, who has stated the 16-year-old has impressed Reds boss Jurgen Klopp, and the Merseyside outfit are now the favourites to sign him.
Additionally, Fissler noted that Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has visited Craven Cottage to run the rule over the youngster personally and "liked what he saw." Arsenal and Manchester City are also named as admirers of the teenager, who has been compared to Real Madrid star Gareth Bale.

Sessegnon operates at left-back, and he's made 10 starts for Fulham this season in the Championship, despite his tender years.
As noted by OptaJoe, his goal earlier in the campaign was a history-making one:
Since then, the teenager has continued to impress, netting twice and grabbing two assists in his 15 appearances in the second tier.
There's a lot to like about his game. While the youngster has some developing to do physically before he'd be ready for the Premier League, in the Championship, his natural talent has allowed him to influence matches; Sessegnon is a direct threat with his dribbling, can put in a devilish cross and has bundles of energy.

As noted by Fissler, the youngster cannot sign a professional contract until he turns 17 in May, and Fulham are hopeful any club that does secure the left-back will send him back on loan.
It's a move that'd make sense for the Reds, who have been utilising James Milner as a makeshift left-back this term. Sessegnon may not be ready for the top flight quite yet, but it's clear that with the right guidance, he has the potential to go a long way in the game.
Reds Scout Maxwel Cornet

According to Calciomercato, Liverpool are keeping tabs on Lyon's young winger Maxwel Cornet.
In the piece, it's suggested Klopp has been receiving "favourable reports" from his scouts watching the 20-year-old. The France youth international has turned out 21 times for the Ligue 1 club this term, grabbing two goals and two assists.
Cornet is still striving for consistency in his game—although, as we can see here, he can be very effective when he's in the groove:
Quick, powerful and versatile in where he can be deployed, the Lyon man would potentially be a fine deputy for Sadio Mane. The Reds lacked that raw threat in the final third when their star man was involved at the Africa Cup of Nations, with opposition defenders not having to worry about surging runs in behind.
Per Squawka Football, Cornet showed earlier in the season he can step in and do a decent job when a key man is absent:
While the Lyon starlet would add some desirable depth to the Liverpool attack, a move to Merseyside may not be the best career choice if he's to improve as a player.
To develop his raw attributes, he needs to play regularly and gather experience. With the likes of Mane, Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and Adam Lallana at Anfield, it's tough to envisage him starting too many matches next season if he was to make the switch.
