Case Keenum Comments on Jared Goff Being Named Rams' Starting QB
The Los Angeles Rams made Jared Goff their quarterback of the future when they drafted him with the No. 1 overall pick, but incumbent signal-caller Case Keenum isn't happy that future will start Sunday against the Miami Dolphins.
He discussed the quarterback switch Wednesday, per Alden Gonzalez of ESPN.com:
"Honestly, I wasn't happy. I want to play. That's why I play football, to be the quarterback and the guy with the ball in his hands. With that being said, I trust Coach Fisher. I trust these coaches and their decision. I'm a captain on this team, so I'm going to do my job. My job is whatever they tell me my job is.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
On Tuesday, the Rams announced Goff would take over quarterback duties:
Los Angeles coach Jeff Fisher commented on Goff's progression, per Myles Simmons of the Rams' official website: "He's ready, he's preparing, and doing well. ... He's anxious and confident."
The move comes after the Rams snapped a four-game losing streak with a 9-6 victory over the New York Jets on Sunday.
While Los Angeles earned the win, it was more a testament to the defense's strong play than Keenum's. The quarterback finished 17-of-30 for 165 yards and zero touchdowns and was also sacked three times. He never established an offensive rhythm on the road and has nine passing touchdowns to 11 interceptions on the season.
Despite Keenum's poor play, the Rams are 4-5 and still within striking distance of a wild-card spot. However, there are plenty of issues Goff will have to deal with in his first start outside of inexperience.
Running back Todd Gurley is averaging just 3.1 yards per carry for a team that is a measly 29th in the NFL in rushing yards per game with 82.6. What's more, Football Outsiders ranked the offensive line as the 23rd-best run-blocking unit and 21st-best pass-blocking unit in the league through Week 10.
Goff will have to overcome those offensive obstacles, but he did enough at California to merit his No. 1 pick status by throwing for 4,719 yards and 43 touchdowns in his final collegiate season.
It is fair to assume he will face a learning curve in his first NFL start and for the rest of the season, but there is some additional pressure on his shoulders based on how well other rookie quarterbacks have performed in 2016.
Dak Prescott has the Dallas Cowboys at 8-1 and looking like legitimate Super Bowl contenders, while Carson Wentz has led the Philadelphia Eagles to a 5-4 mark with 2,121 passing yards and nine touchdowns.
Elsewhere, the Cleveland Browns don't have a win, but Cody Kessler has performed adequately with six passing touchdowns to just one interception. Jacoby Brissett even won a game for the New England Patriots against the Houston Texans while Tom Brady was suspended.
Now it is Goff's time to show the football world why he was taken before all of those signal-callers, even if Keenum isn't happy about dropping down the depth chart.
