WWE SmackDown Results: Biggest Winners, Losers and Moments from October 1
When Vince McMahon gets hold of an idea he likes, there is no stopping it, regardless of whom it may hurt. That goes double when said idea features ridiculously over-the-top storytelling and special effects that allow him to show the world that, gee golly, he is really part of the entertainment business.
Unfortunately, WWE World Heavyweight champion Seth Rollins finds himself hurt most, stuck in the middle of an angle so cartoonish and illogical that the gang from Scooby Doo would find it insulting to one's intelligence.
What should be a celebration of Rollins' lengthy title reign and a run of quality matches befitting the skilled worker he is instead devolved into another excuse to push "The Demon" in time for Halloween.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
The company continues to sacrifice the credibility of Rollins' title reign in favor of overly complex angles and stories that have done nothing to create excitement or interest in the product.
Alas, all of this adds up to Rollins emerging from Thursday's broadcast the biggest loser of the night, through no fault of his own.
Kane, on the other hand, was the night's biggest winner, a veteran performer who is turning in motivated and high quality performances in what amounts to his latest opportunity to star atop the promotion. A longtime member of the roster, and one of the most respected stars in the locker room, he is making the most out of the stupidity that WWE Creative has devised for him and his character.
Who joined the world champion and his tormentor as winners and losers from this week's broadcast?
Take a look.
Winner: Sasha Banks
Almost as if she spit in the face of the idea that she would take a backseat to Charlotte, Paige and Nikki Bella in the Divas Revolution, Sasha Banks rebounded Thursday night, showing great ferocity and aggression as she led Team BAD into battle against Team Bella in a solid six-woman tag team match.
Feeding off of the crowd and their chants of "We want Sasha," she exploded into the match, taking down both Brie and Nikki Bella at different times and eventually scoring the win with the Bank Statement.
It is the second time Banks has made the former Divas champion tap out, but to this point, she has seen little in the way of forward momentum. Instead, she remains part of a Team BAD that is clearly the third most important of the trios involved in the so-called revolution.
With an Iron Man match against Bayley for the NXT Women's Championship slated for this coming Wednesday's TakeOver: Respect special, in what should be Banks' final appearance in the developmental brand for the time being, expect to see her to earn the focus of WWE Creative in the very near future.
One of the best wrestlers of 2015, regardless of gender, this was a fantastic way to start her resurgence on the main roster.
Losers: The Dudley Boyz
Remember when Bubba Ray and D-Von returned the night after SummerSlam and injected energy into the stale tag team division?
After a month or so of interesting angles and matches with The New Day, Momma Dudley's baby boys find themselves just another team.
Ironic, considering interest in the most decorated tag team in wrestling waned the moment WWE Creative stopped concerning themselves with giving the Dudleys anything even remotely fresh or original to do.
At some point, the writing staff must stop relying on nostalgia to keep the team over with an audience whose key demographic already has no idea what makes them so special and do something to create a connection with this generation's fans.
If they do not, all of the potential that existed when the team was brought back into the fold will have been for naught.
Winner: SmackDown
Too often, SmackDown is the show where nothing interesting happens. Home to solid wrestling but a lack of storyline progression, it is very clearly WWE's "B" show. With the popularity of NXT, some could even argue that label is generous.
Thursday night, though, fans who turned into the SyFy broadcast witnessed the finalizing of yet another Hell in a Cell match between Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt and another chapter in the storyline between Kane and Rollins.
Make what you will of the current direction of WWE, but this week, the company devoted its energy to ensuring that SmackDown was a much more focused and important show than it has been in recent months.
