WWE Hell in a Cell 2015: Smart Builds for PPV's Top Feuds

Donald WoodOct 1, 2015

The 2015 edition of WWE’s Hell in a Cell pay-per-view will be one of the highlights of the wrestling schedule for October, and there are several marquee feuds that must be built well.

The PPV will be headlined by a Hell in a Cell match between Brock Lesnar and Undertaker, but there will also be a stacked card likely featuring a world championship match and another bout inside the steel structure.

Here are the smartest builds for the top storylines heading into Hell in a Cell.

The Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar

There is no bigger match on the Hell in a Cell card than the rubber match between the Beast Incarnate and the Deadman. As great as this bout is, though, it needs a proper build to get fans to care again.

The WWE Universe just saw this match at SummerSlam and were given one of the worst finishes in recent wrestling history. With the Hell in a Cell structure providing some intrigue, it’s time for WWE to turn on the booking charm.

One of the reasons the SummerSlam matched worked so well on short notice was the interaction and pull-apart brawl between the two combatants. Wrestling fans need to see Lesnar and Undertaker come face-to-face once again before the PPV.

With their limited schedules, WWE won’t have Undertaker or Lesnar around very much to promote this match, but they must make a huge impact when they are on TV. There is no time for wasted segments in this feud, and everything must be perfect.

Let Paul Heyman and Lesnar cut a promo on Undertaker during an episode of Raw, have the Deadman hit the ring and let the two legends brawl once again. It worked before, and it would most certainly work a second time.

Seth Rollins vs. Kane

While there may be a portion of the WWE Universe that does not like the storyline between Kane and Seth Rollins, the likely match between the pair at Hell in a Cell for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship will be very interesting.

For months, Rollins and Kane have been teasing tension, and it finally boiled to the surface when Kane developed a split personality. Whether it’s Corporate Kane or Demon Kane, this angle has been genuinely entertaining.

Rollins has looked incredibly weak since winning the world title at WrestleMania in March, and this storyline offers the chance for the champion to look like a weasel champion in a way that doesn’t include multiple clean losses heading into an event. Kane’s character is playing mind games with Rollins.

The hope is that WWE continues to book Kane as having a split personality. With Rollins being forced to deal with both Corporate Kane and Demon Kane, the excitement levels for their Hell in a Cell title match will continue to climb.

Who doesn’t want to see Demon Kane finally get his hands on Rollins at the October PPV?

Bray Wyatt vs. Roman Reigns

For those who do not want to hear SmackDown spoilers, please turn away now.

It was announced during the SmackDown tapings that Bray Wyatt and Roman Reigns would have yet another singles match at Hell in a Cell, but this time, there is a caveat: the battle will take place inside the Hell in a Cell structure.

Despite the terrible Buffalo crowd during Raw, sitting on their hands during the main event, the match was one of the best we’ve seen on free television all year. With the intense rivalry between Wyatt and Reigns finally coming to a head, it’s time for a grand finale.

What better way to end the feud than in a Hell in a Cell match?

The rivalry between Wyatt and Reigns has been going on for months, but it is time for WWE to scale it back. Let Wyatt cut his ominous promos and let Reigns win a few squash matches but keep the two men apart.

If WWE Creative wants the fans to care about this match, then not allowing them to get physical again until the PPV will help build enough anticipation to get even the most jaded member of the WWE Universe to care.
