Dodgers vs. Mets Live Blog: Instant Updates and Analysis 7/23
The Los Angeles Dodgers will face the New York Mets at Citi Field Thursday night at 7:10 p.m. ET.
Clayton Kershaw was masterful, twirling a three-hit shutout en route to a 3-0 win. He was perfect through six innings until Curtis Granderson singled to right to lead off the seventh.
Kershaw extended his scoreless innings streak to 29 and struck out 11 batters while walking none. He's the first pitcher in the modern era to have three-straight starts with no runs or walks and at least 10 strikeouts.

Bartolo Colon was impressive in his own right, with his only blemish coming on a solo home run from Jimmy Rollins in the third inning. He allowed five hits in eight innings while striking out four.
The bullpen came up short for New York for the second consecutive night, as Sean Gilmartin loaded the bases with no outs in the ninth and Carlos Torres walked in a run and gave up a sacrifice fly to Yasiel Puig to put the Dodgers up 3-0.
Adrian Gonzalez led the Dodgers (55-42) at the plate with three of his team's eight hits.
It would be more than enough support for Kershaw, who, along with Greinke, has allowed just one run in 55 innings pitched this July. New York might miss seeing Greinke this series while he awaits the birth of his child.
Kershaw is now 6-0 with an 1.34 ERA against the Mets for his career and improve to 8-6 this season. The Dodgers have won nine of their last 11 in New York and remain in first place in the NL West with a three-game lead over the San Fransisco Giants.
Though the Mets (49-47) are the worst hitting team in the majors, they still remain just three games back in the National League East and three games out of the second Wild Card spot.
New York is in desperate need for some hitting and should consider making a move before the end of the trade deadline on July 31.
The Mets four and five hitters for tonight had a .165 and .176 batting average, respectively. Their starting catcher had a worse batting average than Colon.
Something needs to be done, whether it be a trade, a call up from the minors, or the boot of manager Terry Collins. The Mets aren't out of it yet, but will be if they make a change.
