MLB Betting Lines: Baltimore Orioles vs. Detroit Tigers Matchup Trends, Stats
Two of the highest-scoring teams in the American League will square off Friday and could end up extending a remarkable betting trend as the league returns from its All-Star break.
According to the Odds Shark MLB Database, the Detroit Tigers have seen 21 of their last 23 games go over the betting total at the sportsbooks as they welcome the Baltimore Orioles to Comerica Park for the first of three games this weekend.
The Tigers saw their run of 19 consecutive over results end with a 4-2 win over the Minnesota Twins prior to the All-Star break on July 9. Detroit proceeded to see another couple of overs cash before the total again barely went under 8.5 runs in a 7-1 loss at Minnesota in the finale of its four-game set last Sunday.

The Tigers ended up dropping three straight to the Twins before the break to fall to the .500 mark, and they are nine games behind the AL Central-leading Kansas City Royals.
The Orioles have been even worse lately, losing two in a row and eight of their past 10 games. However, they are still in the thick of the AL East race, with the New York Yankees just four games ahead of them atop the division heading into Friday's Baltimore vs. Detroit betting matchup.
Baltimore has scored the third most runs in the AL East but the sixth most in the league overall, while Detroit ranks third in the AL. However, the Orioles have struggled to score during their current skid, with the under going 6-3-1 in their previous 10 games as they have averaged only 2.8 runs per game.
The Orioles had home-field advantage in sweeping the Tigers in three games during their 2014 AL Division Series playoff matchup after Detroit had won five of the six meetings during the regular season. The over has cashed in three of the past four games between the teams along with six of 10 dating back to 2013.
The Orioles have been a worse team on the road this year with a 17-26 record opposed to 27-18 at home. Surprisingly, Detroit has been slightly better away from home this season at 22-21 compared to 22-23 at Comerica Park. For Friday's game the Tigers are listed as the minus-125 home favorites on the baseball betting lines.
